Today’s blog will go over the basics of Vape Juice in Sydney. This may also be referred to as e-juice, e-liquid, or vape e-juice. At the end of the day, we are all talking about the same thing; the tasty stuff we squeeze into our vapes.
Components of Vape Juice in Sydney
Vape Juice is an absolutely essential component in vaping. As tobacco is for cigarette, vape juice is for vaping. There are literally thousands of different types of Vape Juice on the market. I personally have tasted and used dessert, fruity, menthol, and savoury flavours. I imagine the list and options are endless.
Most vape users will use standard off the shelf Vape Juice. They will walk into a vape bar and try a few flavours and then pick out what they like. Here in Australia, stores do not carry Vape Juice containing nicotine. All juices available in stores are flavours only. The two key ingredients in almost all Vape Juice are Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is a thick and sweet tasting liquid. Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is often found in Vape Juice in higher concentration because of its ability to produce more vapour and is also a better carrier of flavours. VG also imparts a sweeter taste to your liquid.
Propylene Glycol (PG) is a less viscous, tasteless liquid. Propylene Glycol (PG) produces more of a “throat hit” than VG does, which simulates the feel of smoking better. There are those sensitive to PG, and as such, cannot vape with juice that contains it.
I have noticed most Vape Juice that I have vaped contain a 70:30 ratio of VG:PG. This is definitely not to say you cannot find Vape Juices which contain more PG than VG though.
Another key ingredient in Vape Juice is the flavour profiles. These flavours are essentially what make up the particular Vape Juice. A fruit punch flavour will generally contain ingredients to give the taste of pineapple, berries, melon etc.
Does this mean Vape Juice contains actual fruit juices? Well often, this is not the case. Most juices on the market contain artificial flavour profiles but are safe for the purpose of vaping. You can, however, find juices that do indeed contain natural flavours. As spoken about in a previous blog post, some juices contain certain ingredients that will create a build-up of residue on your coils and cotton. Unfortunately, nothing can be done to curb this outcome.
A statement I hear all the time is “I wish I could mix flavours x, y and z into a juice”. Well, you can! VG and PG are both items you can purchase as well as bottles of flavours. If you wanted to make yourself your own chocolate custard with a hint of berries, simply buy yourself some PG, some VG, some chocolate and some berry flavoured liquids. The hard part is getting the balance right. It is no rocket science though. It is just a matter of trial and error until you come to the perfect balance. You would most likely start with a 50:50 VG PG blend and add your flavours until you get the right profile. Just remember juice straight on the tongue will taste different than when actually vaped.
I personally have not tried making my own Vape Juice but I have mixed quite a few different juices and came up with some surprising winners! A personal favourite of mine was a mix of cola flavoured Vape Juice with a Menthol Juice. The result was an initial hit of cola followed by a cool menthol taste on the exhale. It was great!
